Dermot Coyne studied at U.C.D., was appointed Solicitor in
1982 and a Notary Public in 1995. He worked in Dublin until
1987 when he immigrated to New Zealand and qualified in New
Zealand as a Barrister and Solicitor and returned to Ireland
in 1989. He then resumed work in Dublin and established his
practice in Dublin in 1991 and opened in Lucan in 1993 seeing
the early expansion of West Dublin This foresight in relation
to the expansion of West Dublin enabled him to build a successful
practice, which matched the Celtic Tiger.
In 1994 he obtained a Diploma in Property Tax. Dermot is primarily
concerned with commercial property and complex family law
litigation. He specialised in Plaintiff Litigation for four
years in the 1980’s and then worked in the Commercial
Law Department whilst in New Zealand. On his return to Ireland
he wrote the first text on house buying which reached No.
3 on The Irish Times Bestseller List (“Your House –
A Guide to Buying or Selling in Ireland”). Throughout
the 1990’s he has handled some high profile cases which
reached the national media.
